Staffs are friendly. Spacious outdoor (not inside cafe but within NLB) dining area. Not crowded on Sunday evening.
MoreAn ok coffee shop with some fast food options at the National library, coffee is ok but the service could be improved
MoreI like this place, coz (1) it's halal (2) relaxing (3) plenty of tables with comfortable chairs (4) food is okay. Roasted half chicken set is quite delicious. French fries portion is quite big - love it. Apple pie and apple struddle are dissapointing - almost tasteless.
MoreLaksa too spicy but curry chicken is nice
It's a great place.Open concerpt.
Nice food.. Recommend to try their hor fun
Don't find them generally as quick or responsive as, say, Han's staff at Marina Square. However ... at my last visit I ordered an omelette, took it outside, and when I turned my back it was wrecked by mynahs. I ditched it and bought a sandwich. Young Indian staff lady spotted my ravaged lunch, immediately apologised and offered a free replacement omelette. Good service from her, thanks 😊. Mynah control measures outside would be good. Before I get taken to task for this observation, may I ask: would you object to a restaurant that controlled a rat infestation? These birds are bold, numerous and aggressive. Humane techniques are surely available, and I would be happy with measures which simply deterred.
MoreCan take time to order and receive order. Atmosphere and seating is great though most of it is outdoors so more of a nighttime affair. Food portions are very filling and tasty. Value for money
MoreReasonable price for food and beverages at such a primed location.
Serves local dishes and sandwiches.Must try their curry puffs...flaky and taste is heavenly
MoreNo longer the affordable plate of simple pasta @ $6-8 or so for students and library visitors at this open air outlet of our popular National Library in the City! Such basic sub-resturant plate now costs $13++ or more ... Perhaps NEA along with the People's National Library should fund out why?!
MoreIf you are peckish when around the NLB, this is a relatively inexpensive cafe which serves a wide variety of dishes, from light tau sau piau to sandwiches, and to heavier dishes like fried rice and hor fun.You order and pay at the counter and pick up your food when your number is called out on the screen over the door. Drinks can be picked up immediately. There is usually ample seating.
More+ Big outdoor space which offers local delights and desserts.- staff service varies depending on their mood and busyness. - they charge for plain water. Not an issue with paying though staff often get rude about it. - Hanis is famous for reasonable good food. Not anymore. Food quality and standard, especially their Asian and pasta mains are subpar. Do improve.
MoreI ordered dori fish, it was accompanied with veggies and was very delicious. I was also very impressed that it came with soup, small toast and a drink! And it all for less than 10$ everything was so tasty!
MoreNot so cheap halal eatery with many average food and pricey food given the quality. But it does the job if you are in a hurry and undecided about what you wanna eat. I guess most patrons are library visitors looking for quick bite
MorePopular spacious concept offering reasonably priced food and the like
Good location. Convenient for meet-ups though it is hard to secure seats at times.
MoreFood is meh, but the place is nice and quiet.
Very good location just walking distance from Bugis MRT. Counter staff is friendly and helpful. Ordered the sandwiches and fries. Very hot fries thus taste very yummy. Sandwiches very generous portion. Need 2 persons to finish.
MoreGood .food was labeled Halal too. What aver we tasted, fish and chips, pasta and burger .all was good .
MoreI have been visiting this cafe weekly. Very disappointed with the service and food today. Soup was half filled and dry, ice lemon tea was warm! The crew even scrapping dishes from other table on my table. Now it make this cafe feels more like a coffeeshop. May not come back again!
MoreFood is mediocre at its best. Coffee is pretty bad but we go to drink there everyday just because the location is great. Staff are pretty friendly though. The desserts do look very tempting :)
MoreNice and tasty foods, we are really enjoyed our breakfast here 😊
Cafe situated at an amazing place. It's halal certified. I think they can improve customer service.
MoreEating here frequently due to location convenience. Food is nice but staffs are not friendly and not polite, always having personal talk and pretending like no customers standing in front, sometimes missed the orders.
MoreIt's a good place for your morning, afternoon or, evening tea or, coffee. The place is recently renovated with additional in-door sitting and expanded range of fooding options. The staffs are professional and cordial.
MoreNice place to take a rest while drinking coffee or tea
Nice food with reasonable price
Situated near the entrance of the public library of Singapore a great place. They have very tasteful products. Personnel are very kind and fast.
MoreNice little eatery in this area if you are in the library and need a quick place to sit and chat over a Kopi. Ang mo coffee not that great here. Food seems so so.
MoreGood open space.
Location: good. At the central of city Hall, bugis and bras basah mrt.Atmosphere: outdoor and it is windy. But have to collect plates ASAP, bcoz birds will come to table and eat the leftover food. And I don't think there is antiseptic for plates have birds came to.Food: not so ideal might be because of location. I have food poisoning after I had chicken mayo sandwich and hot teh c immediately. My stomach is sensitive if the food has a bit dirty. Having much pains after had it. Hope the staffs take care of themselves by wearing masks properly as they are in contact with many customers. Protect themselves is a social responsibility, although it is hot at work.
MoreGood chicken rice. A self service restaurant. Provides good food.
Good ambience for meeting people. During this season, they close pretty early, at 8pm. Because it's an open air cafe concept, do look out for bird droppings on chairs before you sit on them :)
MoreThe soup is blend and they have to revamp the menu as some other of the items are no longer in stock
MoreBreakfast is ok. The cakes are awesome. Customer service very poor the staff need to be taught how to smile with customers. They serve you hot drinks before the breakfast so you end up with a ice cold coffee or tea by the time your food arrives. I would rate customer service at 0 out of 10. Management need customer service training.
MoreLovely open and high ceiling alfresco area. Great for meetings and people watching. For the price, food is alright.
MoreTried the sandwiches here, it's very worth it for the price paid. Order a cup of local hot drinks to go with the sandwiches.. it's really a relaxing afternoon to chill out with your friends.
MoreThe only thing good,it open very early morning 8am even on Sunday and nearest to Central library.seating also alot.
MoreMy favourite place for fish'n chips in Singapore. So great to eat outside whatever the weather, shady when there is sun, covered when it is raining. Good price for money for a quick lunch.
Morethe food is beautiful and fantastic
Price is really great here, Pastry is good. However the staff was really very rude!Entered the shop, asked about the card promotion and she sharply responded, “business card”. She assumes blindly that I don’t own it. Errr? When I was ordering, she was not very pleased at all. To this Malay girl/ young lady, if you’re not in the right mood, don’t work. Or at least keep your emotions away. I’m truly disturbed by the experience!
MoreRan in to get some donuts for a work meeting and the workers were extremely friendly and helpful and the donuts were absolutely delicious. I was pleasantly surprised when I got to the cashier and they were very inexpensive! I will be coming in weekly from now on!
MoreNice food and drink. Especially fish and chip meal set and teh oh. Nice place with lots of outdoor seats.
MoreGround floor of the national library, Hanes is actually a restaurant, and a coffee shop, with a great terrasse, protected by the ceiling of the national library. I will just comme t on what I ordered, a flat white, pricey but good ( they use illy). You can also order cheaper drinks, like kopi O, for less than 2 sgd. It's a great place to chill, very close to Raffles hotel, mall, Bugis, in front of Continental hotel, nobody bothers you, it's in the shade all the time, so that's a lovely place to chill and waste time on a book, or on a screen...
MoreA calm place. Go for the chicken. The servings are sufficient. Do taste bland. Add some salt and if possible, few spices. Overall a serene experience.
MoreLocation is good, catering to people who want a bit before or after visiting the library. Food wise, selection is good but quality inconsistent. Stick to Asian fare to avoid disappointment.
MoreConvenient as it is just at the lobby of the National Library. Quite a selection of choice but not too wallet friendly for average cafe. Range of choices from pasta to sandwiches to burger.
MoreReasonable food, good teh-c, good cakes and pastries. By default, their kopi and teh are served “kosong”. so add sugar yourself. Excellent location, with indoor and outdoor seating. The lobby of the National Library Building is well ventilated so it’s very comfortable to sit outside. Occasionally, can be noisy because of library events, but otherwise okay.
MoreA Han’s cafe that went Halal. Came here at about 8pm on a weekday night. Fairly quiet. Had the tiramisu cake which was fairly mediocre for a tiramisu cake as with most of their other offerings
